Not to mention that the Arkansas State Medical Board is investigating the state's purchase of lethal injection drugs used in all of the executions in April. It is believed that they may have improperly used a doctors license and name to purchase these drugs. #KennethWilliams #LedellLee #arkansas #departmentofcorrections #prison #jail #deathsentence #lethaldrugs #lethalinjection #morals #prisonsystem #correctionalfacility #improper #society #America #amerikkka #truth

Last week the state of Arkansas executed Ledell Lee, because the chemicals in stock were going to expire this month. He was in prison for more than 20 years, with more than 10 of them in solitary confinement. @innocenceproject advocated for the state to allow a DNA test to be performed to confirm his innocence based on evidence, but the state refused the test to take place and went forward with executing him along with more than 8 other prisoners in order to use the chemicals in stock before their expiration date. Ledell Lee claimed he was innocent and tried to prove his innocence together with the support of the Innocence Project. Our system today needs to be fixed. We do our little part by supporting the Innocence Project through design, storytelling and tech. We invite everyone to use the skills they have to help meaningful organizations that work tirelessly to improve our society.

You miseducate us, rape our women, kill our brethren, brainwash our youth, and MURDER our men. A simple DNA test stood between Ledell and possible freedom.....yet he was denied that. Sometimes there is "nothing" that stands between us (people of color) and our freedom YET it still gets denied. White=Life Sentence Black=Death Sentence #ledelllee #staywoke #elevate #mind #body #soul #repost@innocenceproject with @repostapp ・・・ No one should be executed when there is a possibility that they are innocent, but it happened last night. We are saddened by the execution of Ledell Lee. The following can be attributed to Innocence Project Senior Staff Attorney Nina Morrison who along with the ACLU represented Ledell Lee in seeking DNA testing prior to his execution this evening: Ledell Lee proclaimed his innocence from the day of his arrest until the night of his execution twenty-four years later. During that time, hundreds of innocent people have been freed from our nation’s prisons and death rows by DNA evidence. It is hard to understand how the same government that uses DNA to prosecute crimes every day could execute Mr. Lee without allowing him a simple DNA test. Arkansas’s decision to rush through the execution of Mr. Lee just because its supply of lethal drugs are expiring at the end of the month denied him the opportunity to conduct DNA testing that could have proven his innocence. While reasonable people can disagree on whether death is an appropriate form of punishment, no one should be executed when there is a possibility that person is innocent.

@Regrann from @bcumnabettame_ - Executed 4/20 without DNA testing to prove innocence... This morning, attorneys for #LedellLee asked the Arkansas Supreme Court to stay his execution to allow time for DNA testing that could prove his innocence. Lee, who is represented by attorneys from the Innocence Project and the ACLU, is scheduled for execution on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Lee has always maintained his innocence of the 1993 murder and sexual assault of Debra Reese. Numerous unknown fingerprints were found at the crime scene, yet none were from Lee. The criminal justice system has completely failed Lee since he was arrested for the crime. Lee was tried by a judge who concealed that he was having an affair with the assistant prosecutor on the case, whom he later married. Lee’s first state post-conviction counsel introduced the evidence of the affair by calling the judge’s ex-wife, who testified about the affair after opposing the subpoena. Lee’s lawyer, however, was so intoxicated at the hearing that the prosecution asked for him to be drug tested after he slurred, stumbled, and made incoherent arguments. Lee has fetal alcohol syndrome disorder, significant brain damage and significant intellectual disability – important defenses to the death penalty that his lawyers failed to litigate. Lee won new proceedings because of the lawyer’s drunkenness, and his representation did not improve after that attorney was dismissed. His next lawyers failed to introduce evidence of the affair, giving up one of many of Lee’s important arguments, and never pursued his innocence or intellectual disability claims. Nor did they ever ask the court to order DNA testing. - #regrann

The gentleman in the white prison cloths in the center top middle-left picture Is Mr. Ledell Lee. Sentenced to death from flimsy evidence. The Innocence Project takes on well vetted cases Of falsely convicted People. It takes three drugs to perform your Execution. First a barbiturate a "fast" action to render you unconscious. Next a Bromide that paralyzes you. Then a Potassium Salt to stop your Heart. The distributer company McKesson supplied the Bromide. They felt mislead believing the drug would be used to help you not Kill you. And they fought bravely to stop its murder intent. One of the other drugs was about to expire so a rush to execute someone was on. Mr. Lee was prosecuted by a lawyer who was having an affair with an influential person at the time. They would marry. Mr. Lee's court appointed lawyer liked coming to work for Lee drunk. DNA evidence was if used probable would set him free or at least overturn his execution. The two men in the bottom picture are Morons. The one kissing his wife is a judge appointed by the commander and chief of 'merica. He cast the swing vote 5-4 to Kill mr. Lee. This was my view for six hours last night while we gathered in Asa's front yard to make our views heard, raise up prayers and songs for mercy and compassion, and talk about life... the victims lives, their families, Ledell and his family, the people ordered to strap him down and end his life, the ones who would watch... We talked about what love and justice and forgiveness really mean, we grieved for those who think another death will bring peace and those who think that ending a man's life is true justice. . And then we grieved for Ledell, our hearts broke and we were lost for words. But we will continue the fight, the work is not over, there are still lives to be saved. See you on Monday. . . . #arpx #endthedeathpenalty #arexecutions #8in10 #ledelllee

Despite #LedellLee’s consistent insistence that he was innocent, he was executed by lethal injection four minutes before his death warrant was set to expire; at 11:56 pm on Thursday. Lee maintained his resolute innocence from the day of his arrest through the night of his execution. Lee’s execution was #Arkansas’ first in more than a decade. I loved the smell of it. ⠀ But I lost it. ⠀ I think it fell on the street at UCLA when I got out of the car to drop Bree off from a day trip we took to Santa Barbara in January. ⠀ So I got a second Bosca wallet. represented by a drunk attorney, judge and prosecutor were having an affair, suffered from brain damage from fetal alcohol syndrome which was ignored by the court, arrested on the basis of "he was seen walking down the woman's street around that time", judge refused to test DNA that could have exonerated him, Gorsuch + court pushing 8 executions in Arkansas over 11 days, the lethal drugs are coincidentally expiring soon. white = life sentence black = death sentence #ledelllee

Executions are theaterical productions, whose ritual elements create memories in the minds of the living, pictures that represent a contemporary idea of justice. All theatrical productions employ artifice to tell a story. Sometimes the stories they tell are profoundly true, and other times the stories are deeply false. What happens to a society that perpetuates false narratives? Look around. #8in10

Last night Arkansas executed Ledell Lee, their first execution since 2005. He was accused of killing a lady back in 1993 but they never found DNA evidence that he actually committed the crime. This lady's death was tragic and my heart goes out to her family but this pic just did something to me. There are a lot of 'criminals' in the system right now so what justifies the death of some and not others? And look at the brotha to his right...he's looking like "man I sholl hate to be a part of this but I gotta keep my job." One of the attorneys for Lee said Arkansas rushed this execution because "their supply of lethal drugs are expiring at the end of the month." This was the reason Lee was denied the opportunity to conduct DNA testing that could have proven his innocence. DAMN! #cilnmedia #LedellLee #deathbylethalinjection #arexecutions
